After receiving a long-awaited finalist audition call, Ma Lu, a young struggling folk singer, and his optimistic partner Hu Po are eager to finally strive for commercial success. However, before going on stage, Lu receives a phone call announcing his grandmother's critical condition. In the moment of crisis, Lu must choose between his career-changing opportunity and his duties as a grandson, which makes him reflect on the true purpose behind his work as a musician.
